HUGO (SR) JIMENEZ - - Director of Finance and Operations

Owner of Sports Club Management Services, a nation wide volleyball club management service. Hugo has been in the financial side of Boomers since its early beginnings. From 1993 to 2009 Hugo owned Allied Customs Broker & Forwarders, a logistics company based in Miami. Prior to that Hugo worked for FPL for 14 years in various technical and administrative positions. A University of Michigan graduate, MBA in Operations Research. BS from SUNY at Stony Brook in Applied Math and Economics.

TERRI JIMENEZ - - Founder and Director of BVA

Terri Jimenez coached at Pine Crest School for 11 years resulting in 3 state championship teams. She was named as the Sun-Sentinel and Miami Herald Coach of the Year in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2003. After coaching at Pine Crest for 3 years, Terri realized that her players needed year-round training to compete with the elite programs in the area. It was at this time that she founded Boomers and Pine Crest volleyball became competitive. Terri was named as the head coach for North Broward Prep for the 2005 season and brought the eagles to their first district championship and regional final in 2009. In 2009 Terri became the Director of Volleyball at Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton. She along with her son Hugo, Steve and Capri Grotowski built a strong volleyball program before leaving in 2014. Terri has actively coached for the past 19 years at all age levels. This past season she coached the 14Black team that qualified for Junior Nationals. Terri was the 11Black Coach as well as the director of the Boca and Fort Lauderdale Regional Programs for the 2014-15 season. This season she will be assisting with all of the teams and directing the club as well as serving as the head of recruitment.

Lead Coaches

HUGO JIMENEZ - 15 BLACK LISA Assistant Coach - Master Coach of Training

Grew up in Pine Crest gym with his mother coaching there and hanging around while she played beach volleyball. Played at Pine Crest, had most kills, digs, aces in mens program to date. He attended the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business and played on the men's club there while continuing to play beach. Hugo was the assistant coach for Ace 18 mens at nationals, the assistant coach at Pine Crest from 2002 - 2003, the assistant 18's coach for one year under Coach Nichols at Boomers, 13 elite's, and 15 elite's coach the past 2 years, and assistant coach at North Broward Prep since 2005. Hugo took over the head coaching postion at Saint Andrew's in 2009 and built a very strong volleyball program before he transferred to Calvary Christian School this past season. Hugo will be the head coach of the 14Black Team and the assistant coach of the 17Black Team.


Adam has been coaching and training both girls and boys in the South Florida area for the past seven years. In 2009 he received the Outstanding Coach Award for 15-16yr olds by the USA Volleyball Florida Region. He is currently coaching at Lynn University where he has been for the past three seasons. In addition to coaching at Lynn, Adam has also coached both the boys and girls at St. Andrews. From 2007-2010 Adam was the head coach at Olympic Heights High where he also taught history. Adam is also one of the top beach volleyball coaches in the state. Over the past five years he has trained many of the top junior athletes including numerous girls that have received scholarships to play in the new and emerging sport of sand volleyball. Adam grew up in South Florida where he graduated and played volleyball at Coral Springs High. He also played middle blocker on the University of Florida's club team with Hugo Jimenez and continues to play both indoor and beach. Adam has been the the recruiting coordinator over the last several years, helping numerous athletes sign scholarships to all levels of collegiate volleyball.

LISA ZIELINSKI - 15 BLACK LISA Head Coach - Setters Coach

Coach Lisa Zielinski is in her 26th year as the Head Volleyball Coach, Assistant Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Career record to date 652-139 In 1990, Lisa lead the St. Thomas Aquinas volleyball team to their first District 5A title and has since won 24 consecutive titles. Under Coach Zielinski the Raiders have won 9 Regional Championships and appeared in 13 Regional Finals. The Raiders have made 9 State appearances and won the State 5 A Championship in 1995 and 2004. Coach Zielinski has been selected as the Dairy Farmers Florida 5 A Volleyball Coach of the year in 1995 and 2004. Selected Volleyball Coach of the Year 1995, 1997,1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2004, 2007, 2008 by the Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald. In 2004 Coach Zielinski was selected High School Female Coach of the Year by the Miami Herald. In 2002 and 2008 Coach Zielinski served as the Florida Athletic Coaches Associations South All Star Volleyball Coach. Past players have been selected as Gatorade Florida Volleyball Player of the year, Dairy farmers Volleyball Player of the Year, NCAA All Americans, NCAA player of the year and NCAA Freshmen players of the Year. Coach Zielinski currently has a St Thomas Aquinas volleyball Alumni player playing on the USA Women's team. Coach Lisa Zielinski graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Physical Education were she was a member of the women's tennis team and currently holds a top ten all time winning percentage.

Specialties Coaches


KELLY DECKER - - Travel Director/Parent Communication Director

Kelly is entering her 6th year working with Boomers. Kelly previously working as an assistant coach for the 12 Elite, 13 Elite and Boomers Beach programs. She started coaching at Calvary Christian Academy as the assistant middle school coach, intramurals coach and held the Head JV coaching position in 2012 and 2013. She is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a degree in Communication. Kelly has one daughter, Kat, who graduated from Boomers and is now playing club at FGCU. Nicole will be playing at the 16's level this season. Kelly serves on our administrative board and is in charge of travel arrangements, parent communication and tournament entries.

JESSICA JIMENEZ - - Director of Marketing/Web Page Management

Jessica, a Florida native, graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Communications in 2009. Jessica worked for Nitrofill as a graphic designer and marketing manager before opening her own retail store (Party in Pink) and starting her own cosmetics line for dancers (Cliche Cosmetics). She did all of her own marketing for her own businesses as well as many side projects for other businesses. Jessica has spent years watching the sport of volleyball due to her sister, who played for Boomers, and her husband, Hugo Andre, who coaches for Boomers.

WILLIAM STRACHAN - 12 BLACK BILLY Head Coach - Co-Director of Regional Programs

Billy Strachan has been coaching with Boomers for over 16 years. He has been the head volleyball coach at Pompano Beach High for the past 7 years. Before Pompano Beach William had coached at Northeast High School for 4 years. He previously was the head JV coach and assistant varsity coach at Pine Crest School from 2001 - 2003. William was part of the 3 state titles that were won at Pine Crest during this time. Before coaching at Pine Crest, William coached both the girls and boys programs at Northeast from 1997 - 2000. Coach Billy will be assisting Terri Jimenez with the development of our Regional Program.

Black Teams


Jenna is entering her fifth season as a coach for Boomers Volleyball Academy. This season she will be the head coach of our 13 Black Jenna team. Born and raised in Davie, Jenna was the Varsity Head Coach at Hollywood Hills High from 2000-2012 with over 200 wins and a .710 winning % in those 13 seasons. Jenna was the Sun-Sentinel and Miami Herald, "Coach of the Year" in 2009 and 2012, and the setter for 2012 team was the Sun-Sentinel "Player of the Year." Jenna coached the JV team prior to that from 1997-1999, ending with a .840 winning % over those three years. She was selected as the All-Star Coach 6 times in 13 years. Jenna played high school volleyball for Hollywood Hills where she earned All-County Honors and had offers from FIU and Nova Southeastern University to play volleyball but elected instead to take a full scholarship to FAU for softball, the sport she had played the longest, where she was awarded the Golden Glove award and received All-Conference Honors. Jenna also coached Boys volleyball at Hollywood Hills, girls’ softball and Girls Flag Football for ten years from 1999-2008 with a .832 winning %, District and Regional Titles and several State finishes


This is Cinthia Angus' second year with Boomers and she will be the head coach of the 16 Green Cinthia team along with overseeing our entire Green Team program. Cinthia has extensive international volleyball training and playing experience. Cinthia began playing club volleyball in Brazil at the age of 13 and won many regional and states championships. Cinthia moved to the United States and played at Salt Lake Community College for 2 years, where she won many awards including 2006 SWAC Honorable Mention; 2007 NJCAA All-tournament team, 2nd Team All-American, 1st Team SWAC All-Region, and 3rd place NJCAA Championship. Cinthia then transferred to the University of Utah where she won a MWC Conference Championship, helping lead her team to a Sweet 16 Appearance and Pacific Banker’s Classic All-Tournament Team. As a volunteer assistant coach at Utah, Cinthia helped develop two PAC-12 athletes, both members of the A1 and A2 USA teams. After Utah, she moved to the UK to pursue a master’s degree and be the Head Coach at Durham University-UK, leading the Palatines to the British University & College Sports National Championship along with various volunteer coaching opportunities with one of the UK’s most successful junior volleyball programs, North Riding Eagles VC. In her most recent club involvement, Cinthia was fortunate enough to coach (Intermountain Region) and assist with the development of three great student-athletes that are now sophomores competing in the Mid-American Conference, West Coast Conference, and Big-12 Conference. She also coached three all-conference selections in 2015 along with 1 libero of the year nomination, leading the Snow College Badgers to the semifinals of the Scenic West Athletic Conference Tournament. Cinthia is currently the assistant coach at Barry University in Miami Shores. Since arriving at Barry, Cinthia has been responsible for implementing and teaching swing block, middles development, serving and scouting. Cinthia holds a USAV CAP 1 certification and participated in the High Performance training and tryouts summer 2016.

ALAIN BAZILE - 18 BLACK ADAM Assistant Coach

Alain graduated from UCF with a Business Management degree and a Marketing minor. At UCF he played for 5 years on the Men’s Club Volleyball team. Prior to that, he played 4 years at Boca Raton Community High School as a setter. Alain has coached at the Institute of Volleyball Performance, Gold Coast Volleyball Camps, FAU Volleyball Camps, City of Boca Volleyball Camps, and as the interim UCF Women's Club Volleyball Coach. Currently he teaches business at Spanish River High School in the Entrepreneurial Academy. This year marked Alain's first year as the head coach of the Spanish River High School Girls Volleyball Program where he coached the team to their first district title in several year. Prior to this season, he was the assistant head and JV coach for the girls and boys volleyball program there for the last 6 years. Alain still is an active competitor in both beach and indoor volleyball. This is Alain's fifth year coaching club and fourth year with Boomers. Alain will be an assistant coach with our 17 Black Hugo team this season.

HEIDI ENGEL - - Setter's trainer

Born and raised in Yorba Linda, CA, Heidi played multiple sports competitively until deciding to pursue volleyball. In Juniors, Heidi’s teams qualified for Junior Olympics 16U-18U. She set her 16U team to a National Championship and All-America Honors and top 5 finishes in both 18U years. Heidi accepted a full volleyball scholarship offer from the University of Florida, where she was the starting setter from 1989-1992. As a four-year starter, Heidi set the Gators to their first SEC Championships in 1991 and 1992 and their first ever NCAA Final Four appearance in 1992. Heidi earned many honors in her four years including All-SEC, Academic All-SEC, AVCA All-America and Academic All-America Honors in her senior year. Heidi remains a leader in the Gator record books holding #2 in Career Assists and #4 in Career Service Aces. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Law and a Master’s in Sports Management from the University of Florida. While in graduate school, Heidi served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Gators. She then worked as an intern in Championships and Compliance at the Southeastern Conference in Birmingham, AL before relocating to South Florida. Heidi has several years coaching experience at the 12U age from Birmingham and South Florida. This is Heidi's second season with Boomers and she will serve as the assistant coach for our 13 Black Jenna team and the trainer of our youth setters.


Margot played for Owens Community College (2003) and Cleveland State University (2004-2006). Margot was part of an Owens team that finished 5th at NJCAA Nationals. Her junior and senior seasons at CSU the team completed back-to-back 19 win campaigns. Margot's coaching career started as the Director of Volleyball Operations at Illinois State University before accepting assistant coaching positions at Muskingum University and the University of Texas-Pan American. In 2013, she became the Head Coach at Loyola University-New Orleans. From 2014-2016 Margot was the Middle School and Varsity Head Coach at Riverside Academy in Reserve, Louisiana. Her teams reached the Elite 8 in back-to-back years of the Louisiana State Tournament. She earned two District Coach of the Year Awards as well as the New Orleans Small School Coach of the Year in 2016. Most recently she joined the staff at Pine Crest School as an assistant coach. She has coached various levels of club volleyball for 13 years. This is Margot's first year with Boomers and she will be the head coach of our 12 Black Margot team.


Kevin Kitchen enters his first full season at Boomers after coaching in Louisiana the past few years. He began his coaching career 18 years ago in Ohio where he coached at the high school, club, collegiate and professional levels. His most recent stint was as the head coach of the 18 National team at NOLA Volleyball Club, in which he led the team to a runner up finish at Big South and four other tournament victories. Other coaching stops included being the head coach of the Ohio Valley Sky, a semi-professional team that competes in the PVL sponsored by USA Volleyball. Prior to that, he was at the University of Northwestern Ohio (NAIA), where he started the program from scratch in 2008. He proceeded to lead the Racers to 133 victories over five seasons. His last season saw the Racers complete a 32-6 campaign including a 26 match win streak. Prior to his time at the University of Northwestern Ohio, Kitchen helped lead his alma mater Lima Central Catholic to the 2007 Ohio Division 3 state championship. He also was a national team coach and co-director of Team Atlantis VBC where he qualified every team he coached to the USAV Junior National Tournament and twice placed third (2008 and 2010). This year Kevin will be the assistant coach for our 16 Black Chris team.

CHRIS KUSHAY - - Private lesson coordinator

Chris graduated from UCF with a BS in Finance. An active volleyball player since the age of 12, Chris played all four years of high school and one year of club at UCF. Chris coached at Wellington High School from 2011-2015; spending three years as the girls varsity assistant coach and two years as the varsity head coach, winning a district title in 2015. During the 2016 season, Chris was the volunteer assistant for the FAU women's volleyball team. The 2017-18 season will be Chris's sixth year with Boomers, where he has coached teams ranging in age from 13-17 years old. Chris's 2015-16 17 Black team qualified for Junior Nationals. This season, Chris will be the head coach of our 16 Black Chris team and the assistant coach of our 15 Black Lisa and 16 Green Cinthia teams. Along with coaching, Chris joined Boomers administrative staff at the beginning of 2016 and is also the private lesson coordinator.

KELSEE LOCHE - - Lead Defensive Coach

Kelsee Loche grew up in a small suburb outside Boston, Massachusetts, where she was an All-State selection her Sophomore, Junior, Senior years, and also won a Massachusetts State Championship in the Fall of 2008. She went on to be a four year starter for the Hawks of Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Kelsee saw time in 430 sets over her four years, and holds a career record of 99-32 as a Hawk. She was a First Team All Commonwealth Coast Conference selection, Libero of the Year for the Commonwealth Coast Conference, and was an AVCA New England Honorable Mention in the Fall of 2011. As a member of the RWU Volleyball program, she helped the team win 4 consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships and participated in 4 consecutive NCAA Playoff Tournaments. Kelsee was ranked as high as 32nd in the nation among all Division III athletes by the NCAA with a personal average of 5.76 digs per set. Her senior year, Kelsee was voted team Captain and MVP, and is currently ranked 4th all time in career service aces and 2nd all time in careers digs at Roger Williams University. This will be Kelsee's fifth season with Boomers, where she has worked with teams ranging from 12s-18s, and works extensively with defensive players across the club. Kelsee also joined the Boomers administrative staff in the summer of 2016 as the Assistant Operations Director. This year Kelsee will be the head coach of our 14 Black Kelsee team and assistant for the 18 Black Eric, 12 Black Margot and 17 Green Jorge.

Green Teams


Eric began his coaching career in 1994 at the age of 20 years old. Throughout the years, he has coached at the varsity high school level, club level and collegiate level. From 2005-2010, Eric was the owner, technical director, recruiting director and a head coach of Infinity Volleyball Club in Pennsylvania. In 2013, Eric moved to Florida to be closer with his family and in 2015 he joined the staff of Orlando Volleyball Academy-Tampa Bay Volleyball Academy where he coached the OVA/TBVA 16 Molten Red team to four open level, gold bracket finishes. Along with extensive indoor coaching experience, Eric also has a vast background in beach volleyball as well. Over the years, he has played on many open/professional level tours including the AVP, EVP, JSVBA Pro/Am, EEVB, Jose Cuervo Pro tour, Toyota Pro Beach Tour and the Dig the Beach. Eric is starting his second season with Boomers and will be the head coach of our 18 Black Eric team.


Travis graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a BS in Civil Engineering. Prior to attending FGCU, he played for four years at Cooper City High School where he was an All-County selection multiple times and eventually named Broward County Player of the Year. Travis was also able to represent Team Florida three times in the Boy’s High Performance Championships, including the inaugural iteration of the tournament. While at FGCU he was both a student assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team and president of the men’s volleyball club. During his time in Fort Myers, Travis coached at the club and high school level with USA Volleyball Club and Evangelical Christian School respectively. During his time as an assistant coach at ECS the team advanced to the Regional Finals each year and never lost a game within their district. Entering his third season with BVA, Travis will be the head coach of our 15 Black Travis team and the assistant coach of our 11 Black Billy team.


Cintia joins Boomers Volleyball Academy with a long resume of volleyball experience. She has four years of coaching experience with teams ranging from 14s-18s and has worked extensively with defensive players throughout the years. Cintia was born and raised in Peru and has been an active volleyball player since the age of 9, playing for different elite club teams in both her motherland and in South Florida with Junior Olympics qualifications. At a young age, she moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where she later attended West Boca High School and played all four years, being named to the first team all-county and MVP selections multiple times. She continued her volleyball career as a Division I student athlete, accepting a full volleyball scholarship from Florida Atlantic University (2009-2013) where she was a 4-year starting libero and captain. Through her skills, hard work and dedication, she became the program’s record holder in digs, in addition to becoming the first player in the program's history to lead the team in digs in four straight seasons by her senior year. Today, Cintia is still the all-time leader in digs at FAU. This year Cintia will be assisting our 15 Green Travis team.

This is Amanda Perry’s first year with Boomers. Amanda graduated from Lynchburg College in Virginia with a BS in Exercise Physiology and is currently pursuing a Masters in Occupational Therapy at Nova Southeastern. She played two years of varsity volleyball at Lynchburg where she was named All-Tournament player during the conference championship tournament. She also participated in competitive club beach volleyball. Prior to college, she was a four year varsity starter and two year captain at Glenbard West High School in Illinois. She played club volleyball at Sports Performance and 1st Alliance. Amanda has coached at the club level and assisted at the high school level running volleyball camps. This year Amanda will be head coaching our 13 Green Amanda team.


Maja Ristic was born in Greece and grew up in Bosnia. Maja's father was a professional volleyball player in Italy, Germany, Cyprus and Greece so Maja has been around high level volleyball her entire life. Maja's journey into volleyball started at the age of 10. By the age of 17, she had already played on the Bosnian national team for two seasons. Following her second year on the national team, Maja came over to the US to get her education and play collegiate volleyball. Maja started her US collegiate career at State College of Florida, where she played for two years and was named first-team all-conference both years. Additionally, after her second year, Maja was named Conference Player of the Year. Following her two years at State College of Florida, Maja transferred to Florida Atlantic University to complete her final two years of collegiate volleyball eligibility. While at FAU, Maja was named first-team all-conference both years. Additionally, Maja holds the FAU volleyball record for kills per set. Maja graduated from FAU in the summer of 2017 with a Bachelor of Science of Education in Exercise Science and Health Promotion.


Christian Spence is in his first year with Boomers Volleyball Academy. This season he will be the head coach of our 14 Green team. Christian was born and raised in Palm Beach County and attended Suncoast High School where he graduated in 2009. Christian played two years of high school volleyball at Suncoast then followed with one year of club volleyball at FAU. He previously coached for Palm Beach Set volleyball club where he coached girls (13u, 14u, 16u, 18u) and boys (16u, 18u). In 2015 he was hired as the girls freshman coach, boys junior varsity coach and boys varsity assistant coach at Suncoast High School and is currently working there now. During his first season as assistant to the boys program at Suncoast, they finished 3rd in the state championships.


Genesis comes to Boomers Volleyball Academy with an expansive background in high level volleyball. Her playing experience covers seventeen years. During high school, Genesis made multiple Team Florida High Performance teams. Following high school, she earned a four-year scholarship to play Division-I volleyball at Florida Atlantic University where she set for four years, playing her final season in 2016. Genesis graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communications and Health Administration and is currently pursuing her Masters in Health Administration. Genesis began her coaching career while still in high school. She coached at OTVA-Longwood where her dad, Feliz Viera, was the director. While there she also specialized in setter training. From her senior year of high school all through college, Genesis coached at OTVA. In 2016, the 13s team she assisted won a national championship at both Girls Junior National Championships and AAU Nationals. This will be Genesis's first year with Boomers Volleyball Academy where she will assist in setter training, while also head coaching our 14 Green Genesis team and our 10s Mini's.
